CHAUMETTE Xavier

 

In 1984 after studying at l’Ecole du Louvre Xavier Chaumette specialised in the History of French Fashion at Paris Fashion Museum, then at the Museum of Decorative Arts where he is still retained as speaker.

From 1986 he has run classes and seminars in France and in America. He has taught at the American University in Paris, at Parson’s School, at FIDM in Los Angeles, at the Chardon Savard School and at Lyon and Marne la Vallée Universities, at ENSATT and taught at ESMOD and ISEM for 10 years.

He has published among several books " The History of the Lady’s suit" by Syros and Esmod; then " Materials for a century of Fashion" by Lafon. He participates at the re-edition of the International Dictionnary of Fashion by Du Regard. For over 3 years he has collaborated in a monthly column on the History of Trends in the magazine Atmosphere.

 

After co directing the Design programmes with Veronique Soboul at Esmod, since 2003 he co directs the Fashion Design department at Mod’Art International. He also lectures on the History of Fashion to all the students in the Fashion Management Department from 1st year classes to MBA.
