Managing with Luxury in Paris – Cultural melting pot in Paris ...

Paris, capital of fashion, attracts more and more students eager to realize their dreams. Its cultural diversity is reflected in the international group of students from about 15 different countries that learn and live together while studying the MBA in “Luxury Goods & Fashion Industries”. You can fully live your passion for fashion in a city where art and culture strongly influence all students who take part in this really special experience.

A student from Texas explained to me this interesting feeling: “In America, I can only look for information on the internet but in Paris I just need to wander the streets to live and feel fashion.”

Indeed, part of the experience of the MBA students is made special by being able to discover Montaigne Avenue, the flagship stores of brands they know from back in their homeland, being involved in the event industry, meeting famous designers but also younger ones who are still looking for recognition. In fact, networking is the key when you pursue an MBA. Through the 15 months of the programme, the numerous team projects allow a melting pot of nationalities and cultures and create strong professional connections and friendships. And it goes beyond what one can think: a year after graduating, the 2007 students organised a get-together at Christmas in Paris to catch up on each other’s lives. For a wedding in December 2009 in India, half of the class will probably be there. As students are also fond of social networking it allows easier collaboration, for instance between a student looking for a shooting place to launch her new cashmere brand and another who knows the owner of a suitable castle… The luxury world remains mysterious and unexpected.

The Faculty always encourage students to do their best, to be extremely curious and carry out ambitious projects as they will be led to overcome constantly evolving challenges. Added to the economical and management side, fashion history and sociology classes give future business managers the essential background knowledge they need to master all the aspects of the field they have choosen.
